Inspired by Iceland
SEEDS 026. As far as it gets in the East fjords! - Roaming the wilderness!
02.07.2012

As far as it gets at east fjords - that´s the real spirit of Iceland! Long drive from Reykjavík cause our camp was set at a very remote place about 700 km´s from capital all over the mountains and rivers where nearest village and shop are 50 km´s away. Surrounded by spectacular Icelandic landscapes with snow topped mountain peaks, crystal clear rivers, seals and thousand of bird species. Awesome place for bird watching or horseback riding.

There we were - living in very cozy farm doing casual daily farm chores. We completed 15 different tasks in total such as building wooden shelters/wind breakers for horses, set up electrical fences/fixing old ones and installing solar collector for those fences, setting up gates for horses, planting trees and potatoes, painting house, trail marking and renovation for hiking, adjusting and leveling steps at the house for wheelchairs and other daily tasks.

In general we spent remarkable time at the countryside with an amazing Icelandic family. Many thanks to our hosts and great volunteers from Japan, Korea, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Latvia, Finland and Russia. This camp once again proved how close to nature we actually are!
