Inspired by Iceland
SEEDS at SCI TEM - Crikvenica, Croatia.
05.03.2007

SEEDS, SEE beyonD borderS, sent two representatives to the Annual Technical Meeting -TEM- of Service Civil International (SCI) in Crikvenica, Croatia.

Jérémie Jung and Oscar-Mauricio Uscategui represented SEEDS Iceland in the meeting, which is organised in the beginning of March every year; it deals with the technical aspects of the exchanges and participants come from SCI branches, groups and partner organisations.

SEEDS had the opportunity to be introduced and get to know the status of exchanges within SCI; at the same time our representatives took actively part in different workshops organised and dealing with the current circumstances of voluntary service exchange and practical procedures.

Bilateral meetings were held with many of the participating organisations and SEEDS hopes that the cooperation with the SCI movement will grow stronger and wider.

Service Civil International (SCI) is a peace organisation that co-ordinates international voluntary projects for people of all ages, cultures, religious and economic backgrounds.

SCI's work is based in the belief that all people are capable of living together and co-operating with mutual respect and without recourse to violence to solve conflict.

Through international voluntary work SCI aims to give people the chance to experience this way of living whilst contributing in a useful manner to the community.

The meeting was hosted by the Volunteers Center of Zagreb, VCZ Croatia (with the support of VCV Novi Sad) and was organized together with the TEM Preparation Team and SCI International Secretariat.

We thank the hosts for the help given and the hospitality in Crikvenica and after the meeting in Zagreb. For more information on the volunteers centre Zagreb go to http://www.vcz.hr/
