Recycled Art session

Our camp SEEDS 003. created beautiful collages made out old paper and selfmade glue in the botanical garden.

Recycled art is a specific type of creative work made from discarded materials. So this could be anything from old paper or plastic toys to tires to cans or scraps of cloth. Artists who specialize in recycled art literally turn our trash into treasure.

We focused this time on collages. And not just because Guðmundur Guðmundsson, aka Erró, is the best known contemporary artist of Iceland. If you hear about him for the first time, we recommend you to visit the exhibition at the Hafnarhús site of the Reykjavík Art Museum.

Collage is a visual representation made from an assembly of different forms, materials and sources, creating a new whole. It might suit everyone. You don't need to know how to draw or paint. Just sit down, take scissors and create a new artwork, adding your visual thinking and ideas.
