SEEDS 137. Christmas Environmentally Aware: in Reykjavík
30.12.2016

Meeting people from all over the world, sharing the same home, the same interests. Sharing different knowledge and culture habits, helping the others, feeling themselves useful and totally involved. That’s what we got during the camp SEEDS 137. Christmas Environmentally Aware in Reykjavik, from December 8th to 16th 2016.

A nice group, made of 11 volunteers from France, Italy, Mexico, Russia, South Korea, Thailand & United Kingdom, really diverse and fully focused on the spirit of the camp. Getting more knowledge about environment, doing voluntary work, enjoying Iceland and its beautiful landscapes has been the main actors of this very busy week.

The voluntary work was mainly focused on helping the Graveyard of Reykjavik in removing leaves and weed from the fields. The group had also the chance to know more about global warming throughout a workshop and a movie night as well (National Geographic movie – Before the Flood). Thanks to the visit to the Botanical Gardens and Sorpa recycling centre the group had also the chance to learn more about reforestation and recycling in Iceland

Excursions to the Southern Shore and the Golden Circle as well as good times spent together downtown and a delicious international dinner completed the perfect Icelandic week.  :)
