Long-term Volunteer

SEEDS Icelandic Experience

Long-term volunteering (LTV) projects provide the chance to contribute as a volunteer for a period of 3 to 12 months (ideally a minimum of 5 months). During this time, volunteers have the opportunity to be a vital part of the intercultural hub in SEEDS, to develop or improve personal and professional skills, work on their communication skills and improve their level of English. These projects also provide opportunities to create long-lasting and meaningful bonds between volunteers, staff, short-term volunteers and locals, sometimes creating friendships that last long after the volunteering period has ended.

Every year we host a number of long-term volunteers, some join SEEDS with the support of funding schemes, like the ESC (European Solidarity Corps), Erasmus+, etc. Other volunteers join us without any formal funding scheme. For information on details and opportunities, please contact us via email to mobility@seeds.is

Currently, we have an open call for ESC volunteering published, the deadline to apply is 30.10.2026 at 16:00, you can find more details here.
